Parli is a city and a municipal council in Beed district in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census[1], Parli had a population of 88,510. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Parli has an average literacy rate of 68%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 76%, and female literacy is 60%. In Parli, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Parli also has a big sugar plant, which is in 1st rank. It also has a cement factory & additional power plant of 500mW capacity. Parli is one of the jyotirlings, lord Shiva's most powerful places in India. Parli produces 1190 mW of electricity for the state of maharashtra. Parli thermal power project is at 2nd position in Maharashtra for producing electricity after Chandrapur.

Rail transport

Parli Vaijnath is a Railway Station on Secunderabad(SC) Division of South Central Railway(SCR). Three Railway lines emanate from this station. 1.Parli Vaijnath-Vikarabad (Secunderabad Division) 2.Parli Vaijnath-Parbhani(Nanded Division) 3.Parli Vaijnath-Parli Power Plant(Secunderabad Division)

It has trains connecting to Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Manmad, Kakinada, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Khammam, Warangal, Aurangabad, Jalna, Parbhani, Purna, Nanded, Vikarabad, Zaheerabad, Bidar, Raichur, Guntakal, Mumbai, Nasik, Dharmavaram and Bangalore.
